It was on the 12th January in 1980 when the Austrian Society for Quality Assurance and Standardisation of Medical-Diagnostics was founded in Salzburg, Austria. Professor Erich Kaiser was elected as first president. This was logical, since he had established the first external trials of laboratory diagnostics in Austria in 1970. The increasing importance of quality assurance in diagnostics made it necessary to establish a new independent professional organisation.
Since 30 years ÖQUASTA developed to a flourishing organisation with more than 2,000 participants in the various fields of laboratory diagnostics, ranging from clinical chemistry to haematology and microbiology. The success of this society is based on the experts organizing the trials and on the co-operation with national and international medical organisations.
We have decided to celebrate the 30 years of success together with our members, friends, customers and partners from IVD industry with one special meeting dedicated to this important anniversary: “The ÖQUASTA Anniversary Celebration”, in IGLS, Tyrol, Austria, April 29-30, 2010.
During the 2 days of the symposium, outstanding international and national experts from clinical medicine and the diagnostic laboratory will lecture during the 4 sessions on the following topics demonstrating the important linkage between clinics and the laboratory: analytical quality, diagnostics in molecular biology, biostatistics and diagnostics in diabetes mellitus.
In addition, two workshops on recent developments on new biomarkers and optimization of laboratory organisation shall be organized and kindly provided by Roche Diagnostics Austria.
We are convinced that this meeting will contribute to your continuous education. In addition you will have the opportunity to meet friends in the romantic atmosphere of the congress park Innsbruck-Igls nearby the famous mountain Patscherkofel. At the occasion of the party on April 29 evening in the “Triendlsäge” in Leutasch you will learn about Tyrolian hospitality, music and food.
Full scientific programme and other important information about the symposium venue and registration are available at web site:http://www.oequasta.at/.
Have good trip and welcome to Igls.
